Fed: Rudd says he's proud of Australian Olympic athletes

Prime Minister KEVIN RUDD has voiced support for Australia's Olympic athletes as he
prepares to travel to Beijing ahead of tomorrow's opening ceremony.

Mr RUDD .. who leaves today for a four-day visit to Beijing before heading to South
Korea and Singapore .. says he's proud of the Australians who'll be competing in Beijing.

He's told the Nine network the reason for his trip is to cheer on the Australian team
.. but he says we need to understand how much pressure they're under as well.
