Fed: Pak authorities reject two boats of Aust wheat

CANBERRA, Feb 25 AAP - Pakistan authorities have rejected two boatloads of Australian
wheat claiming it is carrying a dangerous fungus.

The nation's monopoly wheat exporter, AWB Ltd, said today Pakistan authorities were
claiming the two shipments were contaminated with karnal bunt.

The fungus, which makes contaminated wheat smell fishy, does not exist in Australia.

Manager of AWB pools, David Johnson, said AWB and Biosecurity Australia authorities
were going to Pakistan to discuss the issue.
