NSW: Govt has not wasted $17 mln on idle public servants

SYDNEY, Jan 12 AAP - NSW Premier Bob Carr has rejected claims his government has squandered
more than $17 million a year on almost 300 idle public servants.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported today that 292 "displaced" public servants were
earning an average of $61,000, despite having no official duties.
