NSW; Election will be tight contest Carr
New South Wales Premier BOB CARR says the March 27 state election will be a tight contest,
despite an opinion poll showing the ALP leading the Opposition by 14 points.
Mr CARR says he's neither encouraged nor discouraged by the results of the Bulletin Morgan
Poll published today.
The poll shows that since KERRY CHIKAROVSKI became opposition leader in December, support
for the Coalition has dropped to 43 per cent on a two-party preferred basis, while Labor's has
risen to 57 per cent.
Mrs CHIKAROVSKI says the poll only confirms the Coalition's belief that it's the underdog
in the election.
The poll put One Nation support at four per cent and Democrats support at five per
cent.
